Class Notes August 2014: Alumni making news

Steven Davis '98 won an Emmy last week. Steven is a writer for the Fox animated series Bob's Burgers, which won for Outstanding Animated Series.

Evie Kennedy '13 took first place at both the Missouri State Championships and the St. Louis Summer Feis, back-to-back Irish dance competitions held this month. Evie competed in the over 18 age group.

Levi Hummon '10 was signed by Valory Music Company.

Dr. MacRae Linton '74 is in the news for being the principal investigator of a five-year, $11.8 million federal grant to find out why high-density lipoprotein (HDL), known as “good cholesterol”, can sometimes not work properly and actually accelerate heart disease.

Claire Meneely '00 is expanding her popular Dozen Bakery to open a brick-and-mortar location in Wedgewood/Houston.

Elise Tyler '02 created and hosted the Outside the Lines Block Party which featured music, food, and community awareness building. Her talented brother, William Tyler '98, also played the event. You can read more about it in this article from the Nashville Scene.

Forest Miller '12's band Chasin' Crazy released their first music video for their breakout single, "That's How We Do Summer." Forest and the rest of his band will be featured in a new reality series that is to debut on GAC later this month!

Gabe Dixon '96 is scheduled to close Chattanooga's popular Nightfall season.

Former USN Alumni Director Tom Bailey '85 was featured in a video by the West End Farmer's Market. Watch the video and get to know him as Professor Bailey of Professor Bailey's Spicy Pimento Cheese.

Glass artist Grant Garmezy '03 was interviewed by Hometown Junket.

Wardrobe therapist, founder of The Style Shaker, and creator of The Ultimate Closet Guide Brittany Witkin '98 was interviewed by Story Shelter.

Bryard Huggins '13 on the release of his third album, "The Way Home." Bryard's CD is available for download on iTunes, Amazon, etc. This album features all originals and features many talented musicians, including USN's band director Mr. Joe Getsi! 

Piper Jones '08 sang USN's alma mater at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Chris Chamberlain '85's new book The Southern Foodie's Guide to the Pig is coming out on Thomas Nelson on September 9.
