Middle School students tackle mythological exam

Congratulations to Asher Huffman '29 on earning a perfect score on the American Classical League's Pegasus Mythology Exam for the second consecutive year.

This winter 20 Middle School scholars chose to embark on a quest to study Greek mythology during their free time. In addition to learning the stories of the Greek gods and goddesses, these students, deemed "Heroes" in their pursuits, applied the principles outlined in Joseph Campbell’s "The Hero’s Journey" to the story of Jason and the Argonauts.

In March, our Heroes bravely faced the American Classical League's Pegasus Mythology Exam, which is far more ferocious than a never-sleeping dragon. Even without the help of Medea, our Heroes were able to acquire the Golden Fleece. Therefore, the ACL recently recognized our Heroes for their outstanding performance.

For the second year in a row, Asher Huffman '29 got a perfect score on the exam, and thus was Summa Cum Laude.

The ACL awarded Maxima Cum Laude to Clio Cherry-Pulay '29, Dalton Dervan '28, Lexa Drewry '27, Harper Hughey '29, and Liam Mooney '28. Lucia Gellert '27 and Basil Broemel '28 received Magna Cum Laude. Ruchika Ramachandran '27 and Vihaan Sinha '29 were Cum Laude. The American Classical League also recognized Ayla Acra '27, Zahra Ansari '27, Olivia Brown '27, Rose Doyle '30, Elliot George '29, Asha Guha '28, Laney Martin '29, Eesha Nachnani '28, Aaron Raney '27, and Phoebe Schneider '30 for their efforts.
